If you have any questions at all please reach out to Janson at 970-379-0080

Your cell service may not work here. Enable WiFi calling in the settings of your smart phone if you have issues with reception.

  • Rock Out With Sonos

    First things first…Music.

You can use the Sonos speakers throughout the house to play music. If you already have the Sonos App on your phone simply open it and connect to the system that is on the PondHillPlace wifi. If you don’t have the app, just go to the app store on your phone and download ‘Sonos’. It’s very easy to use and will give you access to all songs on Apple Music and Amazon Music. In the app you can select which rooms you want to play music and control the volume of each room individially.

  • Netflix, Cable and Chill

If you’ve had your fill of the great outdoors.

We’ve got indoor entertainment covered as well. Each TV has a Roku that can be controlled by the small remote with the ‘Roku’ logo. Power and volume are controlled by the larger television brand remotes. For live TV navigate to the ‘YouTube TV’ app. For movies etc. feel free to use the Netflix, Apple or Amazon apps. Each of those will be logged into our account which you are welcome to use; or you can use your own login.

  • Control Temp and Lights

After all, you’re meant to be cozy at Pond Hill.

Heat is controlled by four Nest thermostats; one in the living room, one in the basement, one in the master bedroom, and one in the log bunkbed room. Adjust to your desired temperature when you arrive. All lights and fans in the bedrooms are controlled by remote controls. They are mounted near the wall switches. Make sure the wall switch next to each remote is turned on.

  • Ride The Peloton

    When you want to sweat.

If you want to workout while at Pond Hill we have a Peloton as well as light weights and a yoga mat downstairs. If you plan on using the Peloton please bring your own shoes. There is a shared login across this bike and our other bike so contact us directly if you have any issues logging in and we can walk you through it.  Please wipe down the bike after each use as sweat can cause damage over time.

  • Play Games

Nothing brings a family together more than a little friendly competition.

In the main floor family room there are lots of board games and puzzles. Look in the cabinets in the entertainment center to find them. Downstairs is a billiards table as well as bocce ball and cornhole sets. The bocce balls and corn hole bags are in the console in the main room. The pool table is new so if you are going to enjoy it be careful. If there is any damage to the felt, it is a minimum $400 to fix.

  • Warm Up By The Fire

It wouldn’t feel like Vermont without a fireplace.

Please be very cautious. Make sure to always keep the flue open and the screen closed. Never leave the house or go to sleep until the fire is completely out. There is a fire extinguisher in the living room and one in the closet in the front entry. There is dry firewood stacked in the living room. If you work your way through all of it there is more wood outside under the deck in back. The gas fireplace downstairs is controlled by a switch on the right side of the fireplace. It takes about 45 seconds to turn on once you’ve flipped the switch. Make sure you turn it off when you aren’t in the room; it is extremely hot.

  • Relax In The Hot Tub

    No better place for stargazing.

If you plan on using the hot tub be sure to set the temperature to 100-104 when you arrive. It can take a few hours to heat. the temperature control is on the side of the tub further from and parallel to the house. If the power is not working you can flip the breaker switches that are outside to the right of the chimney. Make sure the water in the hot tub is around 3 inches from the top edge or the power will continue to turn off. When not using the tub please make sure the wind straps are clicked in place or the cover will blow off and freeze the tub.

  • Fish, Boat And Swim In The Pond

You may never want to leave the property.

There are two ponds. The upper pond is for swimming, fishing and boating. The lower pond is just for skipping stones while sitting by the fire. We do not recommend swimming in the lower pond. The upper pond has been stocked with Rainbow and Brown trout and has some Rock Bass and Sunfish as well. There are fly rods in the entryway and a bait caster in the entry closet. The blue paddle boat can hold two people and should be turned upside down and docked on the rocks at the top of the pond when not in use. Please use extreme caution when swimming and only jump in off the dock. There is a large buoy ring if you happen to need it. In the winter avoid walking on the pond as the ice gets warm rapidly. It may seem frozen but could easily break through under a person’s weight.

  • Grill On The Deck

When you want to show the family your skills.

The grill on the deck is connected to the house’s propane tank. Turn on the gas with the valve that is to the right of the gill mounted to the corner post of the deck. Please be sure to turn off the gas when you are finished. Grill tools are in the cabinet under the grill.

  • Washer and Dryer

It can get real dirty out there

There are two washer and dryers in the house. We recommend using the set in the basement as it is much more robust. Please make sure you put a normal size load in every time and only use enough detergent for one load (about 1/5 cap). Make sure the water switch is turned on before using. Upstairs is just inside the closet door to the left, downstairs is on the right side of the closet.

  • Trash and Recycling

    Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

There are two cans under the counter in the kitchen on either side of the sink for trash and recycling. When they are full please put them in one of the black trash cans outside and to the back of the mudroom. One can for recycling, one for trash. Please make sure there is a black trash bag lining the cans outside before you put anything in them. If the cans near the house are full, there are also extra trash cans behind the shed. Those should also be only filled with black trash bags and secured. If the cans are too full during your stay, don’t hesitate to reach out and we can get someone to empty them!

  • Safety

    First, Second and Third.

Each floor has at least one fire extinguisher. The main floor has one in the kitchen under the sink and one in the hall closet. Upstairs there is one in the hall closet near the master bedroom. Downstairs the fire extinguisher is in the utility closet. The bedroom with the log bunkbed also has a fire ladder should you need to evacuate from the second floor. We also have Nest smoke alarms throughout the house so you can rest at ease.
