First things first…Music.

You can use the Sonos speakers throughout the house to play music. If you already have the Sonos App on your phone simply open it and connect to the system that is on the CasaDelCanyon WiFi. If you don’t have the app, just go to the app store on your phone and download ‘Sonos’. It’s very easy to use and will give you access to all songs on Apple Music and Amazon Music. In the app you can select which rooms you want to play music and control the volume of each room individually.

If you’ve had your fill of exploring the Canyonlands

We’ve got indoor entertainment covered as well. Each TV is a Smart TV that has access to most streaming apps. For live TV navigate to the ‘YouTube TV’ app. For movies etc. feel free to use the Netflix, Apple or Amazon apps. Each of those will be logged into our account which you are welcome to use; or you can use your own login.

After all, the desert can be harsh, but Casa Del Canyon is always comfortable.

Heat is controlled by a Nest thermostat in the hallway. The central AC has two thermostats. One is the Nest in the hallway and the other is below the AC unit in the dining room. Adjust to your desired temperature when you arrive and please turn off AC when not in the house. All lights and fans in the bedrooms are controlled by wall switches. Please be mindful of turning lights off when not in use.

Take advantage of all the local grocers have to offer.

The grill on the back patio is connected to a propane tank. Turn on the gas with the valve on the tank. Please be sure to turn off the gas when you are finished. Grill tools are in a drawer to the right of the kitchen sink.

Nothing brings a family together more than a little friendly competition.

In the Dining Room there is a credenza with lots of board games and puzzles.

Time to really get in the mood

There is a gas fireplace in the dining room.  The switch is on the ground next to the fireplace.  Please make sure to turn it off when you are not in the house and when you go to bed. There are fire extinguishers in the dining room and the kitchen.

It can get dirty out there.

There is a washer and dryer in the bathroom. Please make sure you put a normal size load in every time and make sure you only use enough detergent for one load (about 1/5 cup).

Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

There are two large containers near the driveway that should be used when the inside trash bins are full.  One is for Landfill and the other Recycling.  They are labeled accordingly. If the canisters outside get too full during your stay don’t hesitate to reach out so we can have somebody come empty them.

First, Second and Third.

There are fire extinguishers in the kitchen and dining room. We also have Nest smoke and carbon monoxide alarms throughout the house so you can rest at ease.

If you could do the following upon your departure, it would be greatly appreciated.

-Turn the thermostat down to 55 degrees

-Turn off the air conditioner.

-Turn off all lights and fans.

-Make sure the fireplace is off.

-Load the dishwasher.

-Leave all dirty towels on the floor in the bathroom.

-Please strip all beds and leave dirty sheets in their respective bedrooms.

-Throw away any uneaten food.

-Ensure all garbage is separated between landfill and recycling and placed into the appropriately labeled outdoor can. 

-Close and lock all windows and doors.
